Starbucks Sleeves

I was perplexed as to what to give my baby shower hostesses last weekend.  They are all friends from work and they all enjoy reading and food.  ;o)  I wanted to get them something personalized or make them something but I couldn't figure out what.  Also, I ran out of energy and time (it is such a busy time of year) that I lost my inspiration.  The night before the shower, Mom suggested a homemade Starbucks sleeve to go with the Starbucks gift cards I got them.  I jumped at the opportunity to make something to go with the impersonal gift cards.

Mom drew out the pattern for me and I quickly cut out the three materials and lining and got busy.  I sewed each one which I was pretty proud of because I tend to let Mom do the hard parts.  They were not perfect by any means but we like to say that the imperfections add character.  ;o)

Here are the three sleeves we whipped up that night.

I even had some ladies at the shower request that I make them sleeves.  We'll see if I can't make that happen before school ends. - Leah

Baby on the Brain

We have been busy lately but are just now getting around to sharing our projects with you on here.  First of all, we made a crib skirt and bumper for Leah's baby girl that is due in June.

GiGi made her first granddaughter some cute burp cloths.

A couple of weeks ago we all took a begginer bow making class at our community college in town.  Miss Priss has a cute bow collection started thanks to that class.  And we have no doubt that she will always have a matching bow, no matter what outfits she comes up with.

Today Leah and GiGi made two Boppy slipcovers and more burp cloths.

We purchased some items to make more decor for the nursery, so check back soon to see how it turns out.

Falling into Fall

For some reason this year, I'm really getting into Fall crafts and decorating.
I've had a lot of fun and hope there's lots more to come!
Here are a few of my doings thus far...

Wreath for Dad.
Yes, I know the image quality is not the best,
but I think you get the idea...

Wreath for Mom.
The colors are really nice in the sunlight!

Pumpkins for the front door.
Super cute and super fun to make!

Next on the dockette...painting mini pumpkins & carving a big one with my nephew!
I cannot wait to see his face when he digs into those pumpkin guts
and gets messy with the paint. ;o)

Happy Halloween!!

Crochet Rags

Terry crocheted some rags to use around the house.  She will tell you more soon.  - Leah

Flower Quilt

Terry made a fabulous flower quilt so I'm going ahead and posting the picture until she writes about it.  :o) - Leah

Party Treats

We hosted a Silpada jewelry party last weekend at Mom's house. We were so proud of our party treats that we took a couple of pictures. Rachel made scrumptious strawberry muffins. I made spinach dip and brought chips to dip with. Gram put together the fruit tray and strawberry cup in addition to peanut butter dates. Rachel will have to share more about her cupcakes with you. Everything was a hit and the ladies really enjoyed our treats. ;o)
